Duke and Virginia battled it out potentially for the top spot in the college basketball rankings but can the Blue Devils overtake the Vols in the AP Top 25?

Another wild week is in the books. It was the week of the Duke vs. Virginia rematch and the Cavaliers wanted revenge for a two-point loss in Durham a few weeks back. With College GameDay in attendance, could Tony Bennett’s squad get the job done and ‘upset’ the Blue Devils?

Unfortunately for Virginia, it dropped its second game of the season — both to Duke. That could kill the Cavaliers’ ACC title hopes, but all is not lost. Duke, on the other hand, made quite the case to rise to No. 1 in the AP Top 25, but Tennessee has had a stranglehold on that for weeks now and the Volunteers don’t look to be relinquishing the spot any time soon.

Michigan was another team facing a ranked foe and looking for revenge as the Wolverines’ first loss of the season took place a few weeks back at Wisconsin. This time around, Michigan got its revenge, beating the No. 19 Badgers in Ann Arbor, 61-52. The Wolverines will be looking to make a move into the top five.

Teams like Marquette and Michigan State lost to unranked foes in Week 14, which could drop them from the top-10, but they both made up for those defeats with impressive victories to end the weekend.

A number of AP Top 25 teams lost in Week 14, but what kind of effect will it have on the newest rankings? Here’s what the latest poll could look like come Monday afternoon.
