Chicago Cubs: LHP Madison Bumgarner

The Chicago Cubs were once again one of the better teams in the National League last season, winning 95 games, and finishing one game out of first place in the NL Central. Unfortunately for them, the Wild Card proved to be a nightmare, as they lost the one-game playoff to the Colorado Rockies.

Still, this is a team that should be right back in the mix in 2019, as they have the right blend of arms, and a lineup that can hit with anyone. They did not make much of a splash this offseason, as Daniel Murphy headed to the Rockies, though they have a chance to really improve their rotation next winter.

Madison Bumgarner is scheduled to become a free agent, and has already won so many big games on the left coast playing for the San Francisco Giants. With Cole Hamels scheduled to be a free agent next winter, the Cubs may want to get a younger lefty at the top of the rotation, bringing in the 30-year old MadBum.

The Cubbies have a roster that should be good for a while, as guys like Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant are still very young. They have a couple of arms from their bullpen slated to be free agents next winter in Steve Cishek and Pedro Strop, but outside of them and Hamels, this roster should be in tact for the next two seasons.
