2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray heads to Jaguars
By Brad Weiss
It was another terrible season for the New York Giants in 2018, their first with Pat Shurmur as their head coach. The Giants would win only five games in Shurmur’s first season at the helm, and because of that, they will hold the No. 6 overall selection heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.
Over the past 15 years, Eli Manning has been the man under center for the Giants, leading them to two Super Bowl victories. However, Manning is definitely getting up there in age, and the time has come for this organization to start thinking about life when he finally decides to hang up his cleats.
Luckily for the Giants, there are some quarterbacks that have a first round grade on them this year, and one of them is Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State. In his only season as the starter for the Buckeyes, Haskins threw for 50 touchdowns, while leading the team to the Rose Bowl, and is slated to be the first quarterback off the board this April.
Haskins has everything you look for in a franchise quarterback, possessing great size and incredible arm strength. If the Giants decide to roll the dice and select a quarterback early in round one, Haskins has to be the play, though they may have to trade up in order to get him, as there are a handful of teams in need of a quarterback.
