Marc Gasol hasn’t had time to meet with Raptors pregame intro choreographer

You can forgive new Raptor Marc Gasol for not having enough time to learn the team’s pregame choreography. He clearly didn’t know what was going on.

Marc Gasol has not been a part of the Toronto Raptors for long, but it still was mighty awkward to see him left out of their pregame ritual.

It was his first home game as a Raptor, and the team has this really cool choreography during their introduction that everyone should see. However, it quickly became apparent that one of the people who didn’t see it was Gasol.

Thankfully, someone got the whole awkward reaction on video.

As the Raptors were doing their thing, Gasol just stood there, wondering what the hell was going on? At one point, early in the video, he looked back as if to try to ask someone “what is happening here? I’m not used to this!”

Now one could say that he hasn’t been in Toronto long to meet the choreographer of that pregame ritual, and one would most certainly have a point. However, if you strain your eyes long enough, you’ll see Jeremy Lin, who was just signed off waivers by the Raptors, performing every part of the pregame ritual.

So, what was Gasol’s excuse for not getting down with his teammates?

Now, this is something that no fan should take literally, as he’s more than committed to helping his new team reach the NBA promise land this season; but his complete dumbfoundedness certainly ranks up there with some of the NBA’s most awkward moments.

Moments such as Kemba Walker doing the shimmy on a 3-point shot that rimmed in-and-out, or Brandon Knight seemingly thinking that he could actually deny DeAndre Jordan a dunk shot, only to perish before our very eyes.

Marc Gasol’s pregame awkwardness ranks right up there with those moments, and you can take that to the bank.
