Demarcus Lawrence will be one of the most sought-after free agents in the NFL this offseason. So, what are his five best fits?

When the Dallas Cowboys selected Demarcus Lawrence in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, they hoped they’d be selecting the franchise’s next big pass-rusher. While they ended up being correct with their assumption, Lawrence had a very forgettable start to his professional career.

A foot injury limited Lawrence to only seven games in his rookie season. In 2015, he played a full 16-game season and picked up eight sacks. He was then slapped with a four-game suspension in 2016 for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, which resulted in him only suiting up for nine games.

The jury was still out on Lawrence entering the 2017 season. He was in the back-end of his rookie deal with only nine total sacks in 32 games in three seasons. Well, Lawrence then broke out in a massive way.

In 2017, Lawrence was named to this first Pro Bowl after he racked up a career-high 14.5 sacks with 26 quarterback hits. 2018 was more of the same, as he made another Pro Bowl thanks to his 10.5 sacks and 23 quarterback hits.

Lawrence’s big 2017 and 2018 seasons mean one thing: he is going to get paid. The idea of shelling out an expensive contract for Lawrence wasn’t something the Cowboys were too keen on last offseason, which led to them franchise tagging him.

However, Lawrence has indicated the ball is in the Cowboys’ court, and he wants a new contract. Whether he ends up back in Dallas or not, Lawrence will have many suitors this offseason. Therefore, the five best fits for the premier sack artist are as follows.
