The WWE has announced that Sasha Banks has been medically cleared by doctors and will perform at Elimination Chamber.

Originally suffering a shoulder injury from a triple-threat tag match during last Monday’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks has been medically cleared to perform this Sunday at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, where she and fellow Raw Superstar Bayley will be partaking in the Elimination Chamber match alongside with five other teams for the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

“After undergoing additional rehabilitation on her injured shoulder, Sasha Banks has been cleared to compete in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match this Sunday,” WWE.com stated.

The match will feature three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown, which consists of Nia Jax and Tamina, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce), Bayley and Banks and Naomi and Carmella. With this championship match being contested between performers from both Raw and Smackdown, there’s a possibility that the tag champs will show up on both brands, similar to what the Men’s Unified Tag champs did years ago during the first brand split.

Banks back into the Chamber match could be the start of something good for her career as there has been some belief among wrestling critics that Banks may be too prone to injury to be given a sustained program. With that being said, this also may explain her sudden demotion from being in the main event as a singles wrestler to being relegated to teaming with Bayley.

However, with WWE bringing in the women’s tag belts, this could also serve as a career resurgence for Banks if she and Bayley were to win the titles. As long as Banks can stay active and not suffer any further injuries that may ruin any plans the WWE may have for her, she still has potential to become as big a star as she was pegged to be upon her call-up from NXT nearly four years ago.
