2019 NFL mock draft: Cardinals select Quinnen Williams
By Brad Weiss
The Atlanta Falcons were another one of those NFC teams that really disappointed in 2018, as they failed to make the playoffs. It seems like a long time ago that they were playing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, and it will be up to head coach Dan Quinn to begin to turn this franchise around in 2019.
There is still a lot to like about this roster, as they have a solid quarterback in Matt Ryan, and some extremely talented players on the defensive side of the ball as well. Unfortunately, one of their better players on defense, Grady Jarrett, is headed towards free agency, and they may have to replace him with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
One player who should hear his name called in the first 15 picks this April is Dexter Lawrence, who was forced to sit out the College Football Playoff due to a failed drug test. Still, the failed drug test should not affect his draft status, and when it comes time for the Falcons to select this April, Lawrence would be a solid pick at No. 14.
Atlanta is a team that should be back in playoff contention next season, as Quinn is a solid head coach, and they have the weapons on both sides of the ball to compete. The NFC South has been one of the better divisions in football over the last couple of seasons, and if the Falcons want to stay relevant, they need to continue to add talent to the defensive side of the ball.
