The North Carolina Tar Heels hope to build off of their big rivalry win as they take on the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday in Chapel Hill.

The North Carolina Tar Heels ride into this weekend feeling good after an emphatic win over the rival Duke Blue Devils that ties the two powerhouses atop the ACC. Yes, Zion Williamson may have been injured, but the Tar Heels were strong in their big victory over the Blue Devils. Now they look to keep the momentum flowing as they welcome another ranked conference opponent, the Florida State Seminoles, on Saturday.

Luke Maye had perhaps his best game of the year against Duke, posting a monstrous double-double in the blowout win for North Carolina. With Cameron Johnson also playing out of his mind in the win, you have to like where UNC is at right now. If those two and freshman point guard Coby White can all get on the same page down the stretch and heading into March, the Tar Heels are going to be a major factor.

Though Florida State has been slightly erratic, they’re still a team that can’t be slept on at this point. Leonard Hamilton’s team led by Mfiondu Kabengele and Terance Mann is a threat to knock off any of the heavy hitters in the conference, and the Tar Heels are not excluded from that in the slightest.

This could be considered a trap game for North Carolina as they are coming off the big win against a talented and more-than-capable Florida State team. Having said that, the Tar Heels have to know what’s at stake right now in the ACC. With that and being at home for this one, you have to believe that they are in a position to buckle down and take home the win.
