Is The Resident new tonight, February 25?

Fans hoping to see the latest drama at Chastain Memorial will have to wait another week as The Resident skips a week for The Masked Singer.

The good doctors at Chastain Memorial have the week off as The Resident skips February 25 to return on Monday, March 4 instead. The Resident will not air this week due to the semi-finals of The Masked Singer on FOX. After this week the celebrity singing show will wrap up and The Resident will return to its normal night and time.

The Resident has enjoyed a solid following in its sophomore season. The team of doctors and surgeons at Chastain not only have amazing chemistry but the show itself is not afraid to tackle hot-button issues like insurance and the true cost of medical technology.

Since its return from the winter hiatus, The Resident has been focused on medical device company Quovadis and its questionable manufacturing and business practices. Several devices that were designed to save lives have actually taken lives, and try as they might Quovadis can’t sweep the controversy under the carpet.

Recently, young Henry’s device malfunctions, causing his heart to stop every three minutes. Dr. Bell was there to see it all happen, and given that Henry was the poster child for Quovadis and their work there’s no way Bell can let this high profile case with lots of personal ties to Chastain slide.

When the show returns next week it looks like Bell and his team are still dealing with the fallout of Henry’s condition. Here’s the episode description of The Resident 216 “Adverse Events”:

"The surgeons are determined to shut down Quovadis after Henry Barnett almost loses his life due to a device malfunction; Bell, A.J. and Conrad work to save the life of Chastain’s favorite custodian."

While they have been dealing with intense issues at work, the doctors have also been dealing with their personal lives. Things have been great between Nic and Conrad lately, but Nic might be afraid to take the next steps. Mina’s mother exposed her complicated family life to Dr. Austin, who gallantly stepped in to support her. And Devon is still searching for Julian after discovering that she was about to blow the whistle on Quovadis.

Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait long for The Resident to return on March 4.
