Pass Rusher

The Los Angeles Rams made an in-season trade to acquire Dante Fowler Jr. in hopes that he would help their pass rush. He end up providing some pressure off the edge, but has yet to his draft billing.

Fowler is a free agent and is likely to find a new home. Young pass rushers with upside tend to do well in free agency. This leaves the Rams searching for another option this offseason.

The Rams have some salary cap room, but not enough to go have a big ticket item like DeMarcus Lawrence or Jadeveon Clowney. Someone who does make sense would be the injury prone veteran Ziggy Ansah.

He should come at a reasonable cost based on his recent injury history. The Rams could also look at Za’Darius Smith who has had some productive years with the Baltimore Ravens. He’ll like be a little more expensive, but not break the bank.

Los Angeles has a pick at the end of the first round where a pass rusher like Florida State’s Brian Burns could be available. The Rams two third round picks give them enough ammo to potentially move up some in the first round.

Either way, the Rams need to find someone to bring pressure off the edge and complement the interior rush from Aaron Donald.
