Burnley host Crystal Palace at Turf Moor on Saturday, March 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Two teams trenched in the relegation battle square off as Burnley take on Crystal Palace this weekend. Both squads are tied on 30 points, five points off the relegation zone with 10 games remaining. Both teams are also coming off losses, making this game take on more significance.
Burnley are coming off a disappointing 2-0 loss away to Newcastle, their first league loss of the calendar year. Sean Dyche’s side is known for being physical and using route-one tactics to get scoring chances. However, scoring remains an issue for them, while they’ve also now conceded for the fifth league game running. Dyche must keep his side focused ahead of the tough stretch run of fixtures ahead. They’re below their opponents this weekend on goal difference, a key factor in relegation races.
On the other hand, Palace had their four-game unbeaten run ended at the hands of Manchester United, 3-1. While Selhurst Park has a tremendous atmosphere, Palace have had difficulty winning in their fortress. Palace have only three of 14 home games all season, winning 13 out of a possible 42 points. That is second-worse in all of the league, with bottom side Huddersfield worse off. Now on the road, where they’ve fared better, Palace must collect points. They haven’t won at Burnley since January of 2015.
As mentioned before, there are only 10 games remaining. These games are taking on the moniker of relegation “six-pointers”. Their first meeting saw Palace collect a 2-0 win at home. Aerial duels and second balls will be key in this game, as both teams look to get away from the relegation zone.
The Premier League match between Burnley and Crystal Palace will not be broadcast live on TV. Live stream is available on NBC Sports Gold, which you can access with a subscription, either online or through the NBC Sports Gold app.
