Just over two weeks after beating Maryland in Ann Arbor, Michigan will now head to College Park to try and complete a season sweep of the Terrapins.

After a disappointing loss to in-state rival Michigan State last Sunday, Michigan had to stew in the defeat for three days. The fourth day saw a matchup with Nebraska, which served as cannon fodder for the Wolverines in an 83-52 beatdown on Senior Night.

Center Jon Teske had a huge night for Michigan, scoring 22 points on 7-10 shooting, including a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc. The win helped the Wolverines improve to 14-4 in conference play, leaving them trailing both the Spartans and Purdue by a half game.

Michigan hits the road to take on a solid Maryland team that entered the week ranked No. 17 in the AP poll. Maryland has been a consistent force in the middle of the Big Ten, but they do have some strange losses on their resume.

One of those came on Wednesday when they went to Penn State and lost by 17. The Terrapins were done in by anemic 3-point shooting (Maryland went just 2-19 from beyond the arc) while letting the Nittany Lions shoot 45.8 percent from the floor.

Penn State entered the game with an 11-16 record, including a pathetic 4-12 in the Big Ten. This loss, along with a strange neutral floor loss to Illinois at Madison Square Garden, won’t kill the Terrapins’ chances of making the NCAA Tournament but it could severely damage their seeding.
