31. . Quarterback. Ohio State. Dwayne Haskins. 6. player

The New York Giants have a need at quarterback, even if it is not for the 2019 NFL season. Head coach Pat Shurmur, speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine, said the team hoped to have Eli Manning back for next season, which should certainly be his last as the starting quarterback for the franchise.

Manning had a Hall of Fame-caliber career as a member of the Giants, leading them to two Super Bowls, winning both, and being named the Most Valuable Player in each game. However, he is coming to the twilight of his career, and it would make sense for the organization to start putting the pieces in place for when he needs to be replaced.

Enter Dwayne Haskins, who had a tremendous combine, firmly inserting himself in the conversation as the best quarterback available in April. The Giants may have to trade up to get him in April, but if he is available at No. 6 overall, he would be the perfect quarterback to come in, learn behind Manning, and take over in 2020.

In his only season as the starter for Ohio State, Haskins passed for nearly 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, two incredible numbers in only a 14-game schedule. He has the arm to make all the throws downfield, and adding him to a young group of skill players that include Saquon Barkley, Odell Beckham Jr., and Evan Engram would give the Giants a solid core for the next era of their franchise.
