College Basketball Betting Picks: Locks For Monday March 11th
With College Basketball’s March Madness tournament only 8 days a way, there is no better time to increase your bankroll then conference championship week. The MAAC and SoCon will decide their Champion on Monday night while the MAC and MEAC kick off their conference tournaments with plenty of teams in action in between on their march to an automatic bid to the big dance. Be sure to follow along at @AlexMcKinnonDFS for more conference championship and March Madness coverage.
There are 14 games on deck for a light Monday’s college basketball slate but I am here to help you identify a few spots where you can earn some easy cash and get the coveted green check mark on your book. Only two teams on Monday are ranked (#22 Wofford and #1 Gonzaga) so be sure to read below for the vital details you may need on the unranked match ups.
My favorite play of the night is in the Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wright State match up. The Phoenix and Raiders will head to Little Caesar’s Arena (neutral) for a semi-finals meeting in the Horizon League tournament.
Wisconsin-Green Bay vs. Wright State, 7PM EST
The Pick: Wisconsin-Green Bay +6
In their first affair on 1/26, the Raiders had full control in a 87-75 convincing victory at home but failed to sweep the season series in Green Bay, losing the 2/28 rematch 70-67. With the teams meeting at a neutral court, I give Green Bay the edge when it comes to the spread in this #1 vs. #4 seed match up.
Through a very limited sample size, Wisconsin-Green Bay went 1-0 on a neutral court this season while Wright State failed to earn in a victory in their 3 neutral site contests. Both teams went 16-14 ATS this season and with plenty on the line in this semifinals and an automatic bid on the ‘Horizon’, Green Bay should keep this one close until the end.

Miami-Ohio vs. Akron, 8PM EST
The Pick: Under 129.5
Both the Redhawks of Miami-Ohio and the Zips of Akron have seen significant struggles when it comes to hitting an over this season. They are a combined 17-39-2 when it comes to over/under/push and face the added pressure of the opening round of the MAC tournament starting tomorrow.

In their previous three match ups when facing one another, the over is 0-2-1 with an average combined score of 127.5 points per game and both of these squads struggle from long-range. In their first match up this season (1/19) Miami-Ohio won 68-61 and Akron split the series at home with a 70-58 victory on 2/23.
It all boils down to the Akron defense, ranked 29th in the nation beginning their campaign in the MAC tournament against a Miami team who made the UA defense looks porous in the 2nd half of their defeat on 2/23.
Pepperdine vs. Gonzaga, 9PM EST
The Pick: Pepperdine +23.5
After a nine-day break including a three-round bye for the West Coast conference tournament, Gonzaga will lace them up again for a semi-finals match up against Pepperdine at the Orleans Arena in Vegas on Monday night. The Waves have been on an improbable run during the WCC tournament taking down Pacific, Loyola Marymount and San Francisco (in convincing fashion) and will face the #1 team in the country for what is likely the end of the road.
Despite the 99% chance of falling to the Zags, we don’t just play wins and loses around here. A 23.5 cushion certainly seems appropriate when you look at the last time these two teams faced off, a 92-64 slaughter by Rui Hachimura and Gonzaga. That being said, the Waves shot well below their season average in FG%, 3PT% and FT% in that first match up and should be able to use some of the momentum gained from their fruitful run in the West Coast Conference.
Pepperdine has covered the spread in 2 of the last 3 meetings with Gonzaga and has faired well on neutral sites this season, going 5-1 SU (Gonzaga has a 3-1 record). I think it is fairly safe to say that Gonzaga is in no danger of being upset by the Waves on their way to a WCC tournament win and an expected #1 seed on selection Sunday, but I will gladly take almost 24 points in hand for my card on Monday.
Oakland vs. Northern Kentucky, 930PM EST
The Pick: Under 153
The other semi-finals match up in the Horizon League opposite Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wright State is the late night battle between the #3 seeded Oakland and #2 seeded Northern Kentucky. Both of these teams scored in bunches in their Quarterfinals match ups, where Oakland defeated Youngstown State 88-84 and Northern Kentucky took down Detroit Mercy 99-88.
However, in the two contests between these teams earlier in the season, they scored 150 total (76-74 OAK win on 1/3) and 141 on 2/9 (79-64 NK win). In their last 3 match ups, they were 0-3 on overs and are 2-6 in their last 8. This one is dangerous with the high-powered offenses on both sides but the later we go in these conference championships, the harder it becomes to hit an over.
