2019 NBA Mock Draft: The Lakers are finished
With conference tournament season in full swing, our eyes are on Indiana’s run through the Big Ten. If Archie Miller, Jawun Morgan and Romeo Langford can come together to put the Hoosiers into the NCAA Tournament in a very winnable Big Ten, watch out. There will be fireworks.
First, Indiana will play Ohio State, who lost a ton of talent last summer and is in a bit of a reset year under Chris Holtmann. Even a reasonable Langford performance against the Buckeyes’ defense will be enough. Then comes the real challenge — Langford’s size and shooting touch against the long, versatile Spartans on Friday night. That will be a massive test for Langford, who went for 4-14 for nine points on March 2 against Michigan State.
The Spartans took advantage of Langford’s inattentive team defense repeatedly in that contest but the freshman initiated Indiana’s offensive onslaught to close the game, scoring or assisting on eight clutch points in the final minutes and overtime.
Then, Indiana will likely face one of Maryland or Wisconsin, where Langford’s offense will again be under a microscope. Finally, Purdue or Michigan to close things out, two more opponents who will demand the very best from the freshman. Will we see Big Shot Romeo or the guy who has a 66 turnovers to 70 assists?
