Edge. Mississippi State. Montez Sweat. 7. player. 52.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the market for a quarterback this offseason, as they will apparently turn the page from Blake Bortles. While Bortles did help the team to the AFC Championship Game following the 2017 NFL season, he regressed big-time in 2018, and was benched late in the season in favor of Cody Kessler.

While the new league year does not begin until Wednesday, the rumor has been that the Jaguars will be all-in on Nick Foles. Foles is fresh off leading the Philadelphia Eagles to two playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots two years ago, where he was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

If Foles does go to Jacksonville, there is no need for the team to trade up and get a quarterback, so  they should stay put at No. 7. With that selection, Jacksonville may decide to bring in a freak of an athlete at the edge rusher position in Montez Sweat, who is fresh off an incredible performance at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Sweat certainly stood out during the NFL Scouting Combine, solidifying his place as a first round pick, and he has the talent to be a top-10 guy. He is a nice fit on this Jaguars defense, and with the team shedding contracts recently to add salary cap space, he would be a cheap way to bring in a ton of production on the defensive side of the ball.
