Everson Griffen

This last player for this list was between Eric Berry and Everson Griffen. Well, the Chiefs made that decision for us when they decided to cut Berry outright.

Griffen had a bizarre season in 2018. He did not play in the Vikings embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills. There were reports of gun threats, a late-night hotel incident, and other threats to workers health. He then left the team for a month to focus on his mental health.

Griffen says he wants to continue his career with the Vikings, but it could end very soon. The Vikings just opened the bank account to re-sign Anthony Barr after he already accepted a deal with the New York Jets. They now pay him more than $13 million per season. That’s a massive number when Griffen is set to make major money himself. Come Friday, $10.9 million of his salary becomes fully guaranteed.

The Vikings already sent Griffen a restructuring offer, but if he decides against accepting it, he could be traded within 24 hours. He’s still a very good player but now lands on the wrong side of 30.
