1. Kyler Murray

A decade ago, NFL scouts would have pushed Murray down their draft boards because of his height. Russell Wilson’s success in the league changed all that. He paved the way for guys like Murray to go really high in the draft.

The former Oklahoma star could certainly benefit from being a few inches taller, but he makes up for his lack of size with an abundance of mobility and arm talent. He’s the best quarterback in this year’s class at making plays inside and outside the pocket with equal effectiveness.

Murray may not have the biggest arm, but his college tape is filled with really accurate throws. His ability to put passes right on his receivers will make him a lot of friends in the NFL. Murray’s accuracy allows his wideouts to make big plays after the catch.

When everyone is covered Murray also has the speed and elusiveness to break defenders down in space. That won’t be his first option at the next level, but he’ll force defenses to account for his ability to scramble and pick up yards. Add it all up and it’s a very attractive package for Kingsbury and company. There are plenty of reasons why Murray is the favorite to go to the Cardinals with the No. 1 pick.
