. Edge. Florida. Jachai Polite. 29. player. 124

The Kansas City Chiefs had the most explosive offense in the NFL last season, as first-year starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes shredded defenses all season long. The NFL’s Most Valuable Player threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, leading the Chiefs to another AFC West title.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs playoffs woes continued, as they were beaten by the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. This offseason, they have begun to strip down, and revamp the defensive side of the ball, which was atrocious at times during the 2018 NFL season.

Gone from this Chiefs defense are some elite players, including Dee Ford, Justin Houston, and Eric Berry to name a few. Kansas City is going to have to do something to improve the pass rush after letting Ford and Houston go, and they may be able to snag a player like Jachai Polite from Florida this late in round one.

Polite is one of the more athletic edge rushers in this draft class, and it would not be surprising if he was a double-digit sack guy down the line at the NFL level. This Chiefs defense has a lot of question marks heading into next season, and Polite can at least contribute to a unit that has lost so much on the edge.
