High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

Brook Lopez (vs MIA – $5,900): Needs 28.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.5 fantasy points against Cleveland. As always, you typically know what you’re getting from Lopez. He’s been booming in a big way as of late and even though his salary has gone up, he’s still a guy who gets big minutes, plenty of shots and finds ways to contribute in other areas. It’s a tough matchup but I’m not doubting Lopez right now. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Jarrett Allen (at LAL – $5,500): Needs 26.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.7 fantasy points against Sacramento. Allen’s minutes are all over the place but he’s still producing something, which is an encouraging sign. And now he’s up against the Lakers, which is an even better sign. He had 24.5 fantasy points in 21 minutes again the Lakers on Dec. 18. If he gets more minutes, he’ll produce better numbers. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Larry Nance Jr (vs LAC – $5,300): Needs 25.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31.25 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Nance Jr returned to the lineup and produced a strong game against the Bucks. I have no clue what to make of the Cavaliers frontcourt rotation as everyone is looking healthy now but Nance Jr has had a lot of success against the Clippers recently. In his last four games against them, he’s averaging 32.1 fantasy points. Granted, all of those games were last season. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
