Players costing $6,667 or under

Rudy Gay (at HOU – $6,000): Needs 24.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.1 fantasy points against Miami. Gay continues to play very well for the Spurs with the minutes and opportunities always being there for him. The Rockets defense remains a mystery and Gay is certainly a guy that can hurt them with his scoring and rebounding. He had 29.1 fantasy points again them on Dec. 22. Expect similar production in this one. If nothing else, he’ll get you value. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Kevin Knox (vs DEN – $5,100): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 42.1 fantasy points against Utah. I’m going to fall into this trap with Kevin Knox and I apologize. I still love what this kid brings to the table and he’s shown flashes all season of being a very good player. The Nuggets are on a back-to-back so maybe that helps Knox out. If the minutes are there, he should produce another good games. The salary is small enough to where it makes it easier for him to hit value. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Gary Harris (at NY – $4,800): Needs 19.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.5 fantasy points against Washington. It’s a back-to-back for the Nuggets but they are up against the Knicks so that should ease the pain a little. I haven’t mentioned the Nuggets too much because the matchup could end up being a blowout and the Nuggets have salary guys who are a tad too high. But Harris is at a good salary given his usual minutes and opportunities. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
