High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

Bobby Portis (vs MIA – $5,800): Needs 27.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.5 fantasy points against Denver. Portis has been over 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games. It’s possible that the minutes aren’t there for him in this one but I’m going to trust that the minutes will be there for him and I’m going to trust that he’ll get his points and rebounds. He’s averaging 34.5 fantasy points in two games against the Heat this season, although both games came as a member of the Bulls. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Willie Cauley-Stein (vs PHO – $5,700): Needs 27.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 42 fantasy points against Dallas. WCS is coming off a big game against the Mavericks and now he has a great matchup against the Suns. He had 34.5 fantasy points against the Suns on Feb. 10 and is averaging 33.4 fantasy points in three games against the Suns this season. The minutes aren’t always there but he’s proven he can get it done in limited minutes. And it’s the Suns. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Hassan Whiteside (at WAS – $5,200): Needs 25.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.75 fantasy points against Milwaukee. You never know if Whiteside is going to get the minutes to produce but he has gotten the minutes in the last three games and this has been a very kind matchup to him this season. He’s averaging 40.2 fantasy points in three games against the Wizards this season, including 50 fantasy points when these two teams met on Jan. 4. As long as he gets around 20 minutes, he’ll produce in a big way. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
