Cedric Alexander vs Ariya Daivari

NXT’s Oney Lorcan makes his way down the ramp and sits ringside to watch the match without an explanation. Cedric Alexander eliminated Lorcan from the No. 1 contender’s tournament a few weeks ago. Lorcan refused to get a headset and speak with the commentary team when asked about his intent.

Ariya Daivari and Alexander go back and forth to start the match. Commentary references Daivari’s promo last week about getting ready to deliver a year’s worth of frustration on the rest of the division. Alexander finds a way to build momentum with a couple of kicks until Daivari counters with a kick of his own that forces Cedric to fall on the apron. The presence of Lorcan at ringside proves to be a distraction for Alexander early in the match.

Daivari continues to bring the fight to Alexander for most of the match. Alexander is trapped in a headlock as the commentary team references the potential importance of a win over Cedric due to his past success as the face of 205 Live. The tide turns when Alexander hits a Flatliner to get the fans into the match. Lorcan continues to stare a hole into Alexander all the while.

Both men start to exchange moves as Daivari gets his best chance thus far to win with a Frog Splash. Alexander kicks out and throws Daivari out of the ring before hitting an incredible dive over the top rope. Alexander accidentally knocks Lorcan’s jacket off the commentary table. Lorcan starts screaming at Alexander as he gets back in the ring, leading to Daivari getting the roll-up pin for the victory. Commentary calls this the biggest win of Daivari’s career.

Lorcan attacks Alexander after the match and the two men brawl in the ringside area. The screams of “You took my dream!” from Lorcan references his loss in the tournament, which has caused resentment. Producers Scott Armstrong and Sonjay Dutt attempt to break them up. Lorcan gets one more cheap shot in as the show ends. A new feud is building.

Maverick revealed he has officially singed Lorcan to 205 Live in a social media video following the show.

Winner: Ariya Daivari
