Here is everything you need to know heading into the upcoming edition of WWE 205 Live for April 2, airing on the WWE Network.

This week’s episode of WWE 205 Live will be the final one on the road to WrestleMania 35. 205 Live’s sole representation at WrestleMania will feature Buddy Murphy defending the Cruiserweight Championship against Tony Nese, likely on the kick-off show. The two former friends had an intense brawl at the WWE Performance Center last week to set the stage for a confrontation this week.

Expect a major segment between Murphy and Nese to sell the importance of the match on its biggest stage. Nese’s dream of potentially winning a title in his home of New York in front of such a big crowd is the driving force of his passion. Murphy is attempting to prove he’s the most dominant cruiserweight on 205 Live with the chance to validate that at the most important WWE event.

There will likely be a promo or confrontation with both men expressing how much they want to win the match. WWE must do a good job here as 205 Live is lacking the momentum for the match to get any love from the crowd on the pre-show. It will be the focal point of this week’s episode as the go-home show before WrestleMania.

The only advertised match heading into 205 Live this week will see Mike Kanellis face off with Akira Tozawa in a rematch from their battle two weeks ago. Kanellis ended his long losing streak by defeating Tozawa thanks in part to a major distraction from his wife, Maria Kanellis.

205 Live general manager Drake Maverick scheduled the rematch with the variable of Brian Kendrick now in the corner of his friend Tozawa. Both wrestlers will have someone supporting them at ringside to even the odds. Mike is looking to build a winning streak moving forward, while Tozawa needs wins to return to prominence in cruiserweight title contention.

The main event of last week’s 205 Live featured a new story weaving its way into the show. Cedric Alexander lost to Ariya Daivari thanks to Oney Lorcan’s distraction. It was revealed that Lorcan has now officially signed with 205 Live . The NXT star was eliminated in the Cruiserweight Championship contender tournament by Alexander, thus creating an issue between the two.

Lorcan not only cost Alexander his match last week, but he also attacked him afterwards. A cheap shot from Oney left Alexander laying to end the show and kickstart the direction of a new program. We can expect to hear from Lorcan, who will likely go into further detail about his issues with Alexander. Maybe we’ll even get a match of some sort, with his official status on the roster now confirmed.

Another interesting moment from last week’s episode featured Drew Gulak and Humberto Carrillo failing to get along when teaming with Jack Gallagher in a six-man tag loss to Lucha House Party. Carrillo refused to listen to Gulak’s demands to stop attempting high-flying moves. Gulak prevented Gallagher from executing an aerial move, which led to the team losing.

Gallagher tried to play peacemaker as Gulak and Carrillo argued following the match. The tension between the two wrestlers should continue to remain a story on 205 Live until a conclusion is reached one way or the other. Gallagher can only remain stuck in the middle for so long.
