5 reasons why the Vikings will bounce back

Last season the Minnesota Vikings failed to meet their high expectations. Could they possibly be the contender they were supposed to be in 2019?

After the Vikings’ 2017 season ended in the NFC Championship game, they were determined to bounce back and contend for a Super Bowl. By going out in free agency and making the big splash to bring in the highly-coveted Kirk Cousins, many had the Vikings as a legitimate threat to win it all.

As the season carried on, though, Minnesota hovered around the .500 mark and was never able to break out as part of the NFC’s elite. Always seeming to lose in the critical and primetime games, the Vikings sputtered to a 8-7-1 finish with no playoff berth.

Even though the 2018 season was frustrating for the Vikings, there still are high hopes that they could become the contender that they envisioned last season.  With most of their team returning and Mike Zimmer still at the helm, Minnesota seems ready to rebound in the 2019 season.

5. Diggs, Thielen & Company

Name a better wide receiver combo than Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Together these two took the NFL by storm and combined for over2,000 receiving yards and a total of 18  touchdowns. Not bad, right?

Let’s also not forget about the steady tight end in Kyle Rudolph. Rudolph had the second best season of his career as he caught over 600 yards and scored four times. Although Laquon Treadwell never became the star receiver that many thought he would become, he still can contribute on a weekly basis.

If the Vikings are going to be a true contender next season, one of the main reasons is going to be due to the pass catchers they have. With arguably the best wide receiver combo in football, the Vikings will continue to give defenses headaches every game.
