A look ahead to the final match of the storied career of Kurt Angle, a one-on-one battle with Baron Corbin at WWE WrestleMania 35.

Kurt Angle has provided the WWE Universe with some of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history and will always be remembered as one of the greatest in-ring competitors the industry has ever seen. Unfortunately, time remains undefeated and the 50-year-old Olympic gold medalist is ready to call it a career. He will give his fans one last WrestleMania moment this Sunday in a farewell match against Baron Corbin.

Making his first appearance at WrestleMania 2000, Angle, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit put on a show in a two-fall triple threat match with both the Intercontinental Championship and the European Championship on the line. He and Benoit followed it up with a solid singles match the following year at WrestleMania X-Seven.

Angle defeated Kane on the grandest stage of them all in Toronto at WrestleMania X8 and then closed out the night in Seattle the following year at WrestleMania XIX in an epic WWE Championship main event with Brock Lesnar. He competed in yet another instant classic at Madison Square Garden at WrestleMania XX against Eddie Guerrero and then followed that up in Los Angeles at WrestleMania 21 with his best match at The Showcase of the Immortals, an all-time classic with the great Shawn Michaels. That match is considered by most to be one of the greatest bouts in WrestleMania history, cracking many top-five lists.

Angle’s last WrestleMania match for a dozen years would come at WrestleMania 22 in a triple threat match with Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio. He would go on to work for TNA for a decade but returned to WWE in 2017 to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The night after WrestleMania 33, he was announced as the new General Manager of Monday Night Raw, which played right into a storyline that would lead to his first WrestleMania match in 12 years, a mixed tag in which he teamed with Ronda Rousey in her debut match to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, a match that stole the night.

Last August, Angle was replaced as general manager by Baron Corbin and since then, the two have crossed paths on numerous occasions, which leads us right into this match at WrestleMania 35. Angle cost Corbin the chance to be in the WWE World Cup Tournament at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Saudi Arabia. Angle would then join a large group of Superstars at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs to help Braun Strowman defeat Corbin to strip him of power, and the following night was part of another group that defeated Corbin in a handicap match to keep from becoming the permanent GM of Raw.

Corbin defeated Angle in their last one-on-one matchup back in February, so Angle has plenty to be upset about as he prepares for the final match of his Hall of Fame career. However, he had the last laugh this past Monday night on Raw, as he slapped Corbin in the Ankle Lock to close the show. Angle has been picking up some great wins on his farewell tour since announcing his plans to retire, and he’ll look to ride off into the sunset with one more WrestleMania moment this Sunday.
