1. Nick Bosa

Bosa represents the crown jewel of what the Packers might be able to get out of this draft. They’re a team that needs pass rushing help, and Bosa is the best edge rusher in this draft. He may not be a perfect fit to play in their 3-4 front, but he’s the type of talent you shape your system around.

Right now the industry believes Bosa is pretty close to a lock to go No. 2 to the 49ers. San Francisco is going to require a king’s ransom to move off that pick. At the very least, the Packers would need to give up both of their first rounders. It would probably take another decent pick to really get a deal close to completion.

This is still the kind of gamble the Packers should be making to extend their current Super Bowl window open. It would be a major upset if Bosa doesn’t become a Pro Bowl defensive end pretty early in his NFL career. He’s the kind of talent that can make everyone on Green Bay’s defense look better the moment he steps onto the field.

Making a big deal for Bosa would invite a lot of scrutiny and criticism for the Packers front office, but the potential playoff is huge. Bosa is talented enough to transform Green Bay from pretenders to contenders.
