2019 NFL Draft: 5 players Vikings could take in Round 1

3. Devin Bush

If the Vikings don’t spend their first pick on an offensive lineman, the next logical position to look at would be linebacker. If Bush manages to drop this far in the draft, Minnesota might be tempted to stop his slide.

Bush isn’t the most physical linebacker in his class, but he makes up for that with a ton of speed. The 4.43 40-yard dash he ran at the Combine backs up what you see from him on film. He’s a player who can make plays all over the field in the right scheme.

Zimmer could do wonders with a player like Bush. The Vikings are blessed with a lot of talent up front, but they could use a dynamic playmaker who can run plays down and generally wreak havoc out on the field. The fit is so good that Bush should be hoping that he falls far enough to go to the Vikings.

That’s the big problem though. Bush’s athleticism is going to tempt a lot of teams to consider drafting him well before the Vikings go on the clock. Minnesota might have to move up if they want to secure the former Michigan star’s services.
