With the NFL draft coming soon, teams look to shore up needs to create flexibility. Which remaining free agents fit the best with teams in need?

While many remaining free agents will find themselves unsigned until after the NFL Draft, some signings make sense for teams to make now, in hopes of maximizing their flexibility heading in to the NFL Draft: a team entering the draft with a want-list is in a much better place than a team entering with a need-list.

While many free agents remain unsigned, which ones make the most sense for teams as they look forward to draft flexibility?

1. Ndamukong Suh, Defensive Tackle

There is no question, after last season, that Suh is not the player he once was. Playing in a star-powered defense, Suh managed only four sacks and four tackles for loss in 2018. Perhaps that is why he finds himself still on the waiver wire in April.

There is no chance that the former Ram receives anywhere near the $19.1 million per year he made on his last deal, but he should still command a reasonably strong salary, and be a starter for the team that picks him up.

As for what teams make the most sense, the teams that seem to make the most sense include: Tennessee, LA Rams, and the Indianapolis Colts.

In terms of salary, it would be difficult to see the former All-Pro making less than someone like Derek Wolfe or Star Lotulelei, who check in just under $9 million this year.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts on a 1-year, $11 million deal. Fully guaranteed.

The Colts have bigger needs than this so they are unlikely to nab a defensive tackle at No. 26 overall. Ed Oliver likely goes earlier and the second tier of the interior defensive line players like Dexter Lawrence and Jeffrey Simmons are a reach here. The Colts could pick up Suh just before the draft to ensure they have a playmaker at the position to continue improving the pass rush.
