Tiger Woods won his 15th major on Sunday — and perhaps his sweetest — and afterwards had a tweet for his fans about the victory.

Tiger Woods wasn’t supposed to win the Masters this year. He was supposed to contend and fall short, because that’s what 42-year-old golfers, even the great ones, do.

Then something funny happened. Something amazing. Tiger roared down the back nine of Augusta National on Sunday. He tamed Amen Corner, hit one of the all-time shots to begin his birdie on 16, and then finished with a knee-knocker on the 18th. Off the snide, and into the arms of his children and mother.

After it was all over, Woods slipped on another green jacket. For the California native, it is his fifth Masters title and 15th major championship. He now trails the great Jack Nicolaus by three in the latter department. But before we get to any of what the future may bring, Tiger has a tweet he shared with his fans.

The jacket is sure comfortable. How could it not be? That thing could be moth-eaten and two sizes too small, and nothing would have ever slipped on easier. For a man that hasn’t been in the winner’s circle at Augusta since 2005, Woods must feel the weight of all expectations off his shoulders. Maybe now he can play with the freeness of an unburdened man. If he can, the challengers are in even more trouble than we already realize them to be.

For Woods, greatness at Augusta.
