NFL mock draft if underclassmen were eligible: Trevor Lawrence goes No. 1, Tua in top 5
10. Denver Broncos – Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
The Broncos got a stop-gap solution at quarterback with the trade for Joe Flacco, but still need a young quarterback, and one who has more upside than the 34-year-old vet has. John Elway’s preference for giant quarterbacks will have to take a back seat for the 6-2, 220-pound Fromm who has been a starter for his first two seasons at Georgia.
Fromm took over for the injured Jacob Eason early in his freshman season and helped lead them to the National Championship and SEC Championship. He almost got them back to the playoff as a sophomore but did get them back to the SEC Championship Game. A third appearance in the SEC Championship Game could be likely in 2019, and a potential return to the playoff.
He’s the consummate leader, can make all the throws with the appropriate touch and velocity and is battle-tested after two years in the SEC. The Broncos might be interested in Drew Lock, but in this scenario, Fromm presents a clear upgrade.
