Le’Veon Bell tweets nice goodbye to Steelers fans

Le’Veon Bell sparred with the Steelers organization. But on Friday, he took to Twitter to send his best wishes to the fans.

At 27 years old, Le’Veon Bell is one of the best running backs in the NFL. However, he missed the entire 2018 season because he didn’t want to play under the franchise tag for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bell made his point. And in 2019, he will take the field once again with a new team, the New York Jets. With the NFL schedule being released this week, it was revealed that Bell would face his former team in New York in Week 16.

On Friday, Steeler Nation, a Twitter account for Steelers fans, reached out to Bell to wish him well. The star back returned the gesture.

Bell started his career in Pittsburgh after being selected in the second round of the 2013 draft. He went on to be selected to three Pro Bowls and earn three All-Pro honors in his first five years with the team. In 2018, he felt that a franchise tag didn’t reflect his worth and made his point by sitting out the season.

Bell was arguably the best free agent on the market this offseason, and he will have a lot to prove this upcoming season. Facing the Steelers at the end of the season, when teams are looking for those final wins to lift them into the playoffs, gives Bell the opportunity to have a huge impact on both his current and former clubs.

Bell is beginning a new chapter in his career. But that doesn’t mean he forgot where he once was.
