4. Jaylon Ferguson

College production isn’t everything when it comes to the NFL Draft, but if it was, Jaylon Ferguson would go No. 1 overall. The Chiefs will certainly give the NCAA’s all-time sack leader strong consideration if he’s on the board at No. 28.

Critics of Ferguson point to his pretty pedestrian athleticism as the reason that he isn’t worth a first round pick. That point of view certainly has some logic.

However, Ferguson’s college tape is simply too impressive to ignore. He gets to the quarterback constantly when you watch Louisiana Tech play. The level of mediocre competition is a valid concern, but he beats tackles in a myriad of ways. He might not be a potential superstar, but this guy is going to get consistent pressure off the edge right away.

In the end, the Chiefs will likely opt for a player with a higher ceiling with their first round pick, but Ferguson should be a prospect that intrigues him. They could do a lot worse than the accomplished sack artist.
