On Thursday, leaked audio involving Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill and his fiancee, Crystal Espinal, has proved to be an ugly bombshell.

Tyreek Hill’s time with the Kansas City Chiefs, and potentially with the National Football League, is likely coming to an end.

On Thursday night, the CBS affiliate in Kansas City (KCTV5) released an 11-minute audio tape with sound from Hill and Espinal. In the recording, Hill can be heard telling Espinal that “you need to be terrified of me too, bitch.” Hill and Espinal continue speaking to each other, with Espinal stating that Hill punches his 3-year-old son in the chest, and strikes him with a belt.

All of this comes one day after the Johnson County (Kan.) District Attorney’s Office came out and stated that there was not enough evidence to charge Hill or Espinal with a crime, in connection with the alleged battery of the aforementioned minor. However, DA Stephen Howe emphatically stated that he believed there was a crime committed.

With this information, it seems impossible that Hill will remain with the team going forward. In November, the Chiefs released running back Kareem Hunt after he was seen on a video obtained by TMZ kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel. Hunt has since been suspended for eight games, although he was signed by the Cleveland Browns on a 1-year deal.

Hill is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chiefs, despite being convicted of domestic assault and battery for punching and strangling Espinal when she was pregnant with their son.
