The Seattle Seahawks drafted Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metcalf in the second round, and their videos of the process are the best thing we’ve seen.

D.K. Metcalf is known for a ridiculous physique. He’s also been known this weekend as one of the surprising fallers of the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Seattle Seahawks somehow captured both moments on video.

Seattle ended Maetcalf’s torture on Friday night, selecting the Ole Miss wideout with the No. 64 pick. Metcalf was projected by many to be a first-round pick, largely because of the show he put on during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

During that time, it was reported that Metcalf had a body fat percentage of less than two percent. He showed off that body when he walked into a meeting with Seattle shirtless. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll showed that more than one man can go that route.

Then on Friday, the Seahawks released a video of the team selecting Metcalf. It began with General Manager John Schneider making the customary phone call, before handing the phone off to Carroll. The emotion on the other end from Metcalf is what makes the whole thing so touching.

Considering Adam Schefter’s report that veteran receiver Doug Baldwin may need to retire due to a compilation of injuries, Metcalf might become an immediate contributor. The Seahawks would have Tyler Lockett and not much else left on the outside, giving Metcalf an opportunity to get rolling from the start of training camp.
