2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to Dolphins
By Brad Weiss
The San Francisco 49ers struggled through a disappointing 2018 NFL season, and a lot of that had to do with the fact that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was hurt early on. During the 2017 campaign, Garoppolo came on towards the end of the season, winning all five of his starts, and taking a 1-10 49ers team to a 6-10 record.
In 2019, Garoppolo will be healthy, and that means that this 49ers team is going to look a lot different than they did a year ago. In addition, they could have the best pass rush in the NFC West, after adding Kansas City star Dee Ford this offseason, and drafting Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa at No. 2 overall.
All the dominoes are starting to stack up for head coach Kyle Shanahan, who should lead this team towards the top of the division this Fall. He will have to navigate a very tough schedule, and division, as the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams should both be in the playoff hunt as well as the season wears on.
With their first round pick in 2020, San Francisco should look to stay on the defensive side of the ball, selecting Alabama linebacker Anfernee Jennings. Jennings is another guy who can get up the field in a hurry, and showed he can be a dominant pass rusher during his time with the Crimson Tide, and would add even more pressure on the quarterback for San Francisco.
