Frankfurt vs. Chelsea live stream: Watch Europa League online
By Warren Pegg
Frankfurt face Chelsea at the Commerzbank Arena on Thursday, May 2. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Although Eintracht Frankfurt had already enjoyed a couple of decent seasons under Niko Kovac, they’ve been transformed this term after Adi Huetter arrived to take over from the Bayern Munich-bound Kovac in the summer.
The cynical, often dour and bruising play that Frankfurt specialized in under Kovac has been replaced by a far more attacking, freewheeling game that has won them plenty of admirers in Germany and beyond.
Their recruitment policy under general manager Fredi Bobic has also earned plaudits, and the club currently have one of the most coveted forward triumvirates in European soccer in the form of Sebastien Haller, Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic.
In contrast, the wheels have come off Chelsea’s campaign since that early-season period when they kept pace with Liverpool and Manchester City, and Eden Hazard was heralded as the best player in the Premier League. Nonetheless, a top-four finish and a Europa League triumph would surely be enough to keep Maurizio Sarri in his job.
