Welcome the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday’s Xfinity Series race from Dover!  On Saturday afternoon the Xfinity Series takes center stage for the Allied Steel Buildings 200. This is the 4th and final Dash 4 Cash event and also the final time this year for a driver to win a $100,000 bonus. Last week’s Talladega winner Tyler Reddick leads the eligible quartet joined by Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe and Gray Gaulding. You will see these 4 vying for that top spot among them, but especially Gray Gaulding who was a surprise top 4 finisher last week and a boost like this could really further his career, and also help his team out big time.

At this race last year Justin Algaier came home with the big concrete Monster and will look to repeat, but drivers like Austin Cindric, Christopher Bell (Fall 2018 winner), and the field will look to keep that from happening.

NASCAR DFS – Vegas Odds:

Christopher Bell   +150
Tyler Reddick   +375
Cole Custer   +400
Justin Allgaier   +475
Brandon Jones   +1300
Austin Cindric   +1500
Field   +1500
Chase Briscoe   +2200
Justin Haley   +2200
Noah Gragson   +2600
Riley Herbst   +2600
John Hunter Nemecheck   +2700

NASCAR DFS – Leaders of the Pack

Much like with yesterday’s Truck race, I won’t break down the top two plays in Tyler Reddick ($12,00) and Christopher Bell ($10,900). They are both the top two plays in my opinion and will most likely be extremely chalky, especially Bell who is at his second lowest price of the season (up $700 from last week)

Cole Custer ($10,300)

Avg 2019 Finish: 11.1

Custer was the hottest driver heading into the Easter break, and ran into some bad luck last week and wrecked early and ended up 32nd. Coming into Talladega Custer had a win and a 3rd place finish where he lead 147 laps in his last 2 races. Over those two races Custer averaged 88.5 DKFP, as we can see the poor finish last week is not the norm for Custer and I am not concerned with that and will roster him confidently no matter where he qualifies.

Austin Cindric ($9,900)

Avg 2019 Finish: 8th

Cindric might be the hottest driver in the Xfinity series (sorry Cole! ) and is probably the best driver in the series without a win, but that might be changing today. After final practice on Friday Cindric led all drivers, after having the 5th best lap time in first practice. On the season Cindric has 7 top 10’s and has 3 straight finishes inside the top 6.

Other Options : Justin Allgaier ($11,400), John Hunter Nemechek ($9,600)

NASCAR DFS – Middle of the Pack

Justin Haley ($8,800)

Avg 2019 Finish: 9.8

After a 17th place finish (his worst this season) at Daytona, Haley has 7 top 10’s in 8 races (a 12th place finish as his only non top 10) and is the model of consistency with three 7th place finishes in the last 4 races as well. Haley has another fast car this weekend, finishing up final practice with the 3rd fastest lap.

Kaz Grala ($8,600)

Avg 2019 Finish: 16th

Grala has only run 2 races this season in the Xfinity Series, and has an 18th and 14th place finish. In final practice on Friday Grala finished 15th, but had the 8th best 10 lap average, which to me is more important than one single lap time. We will need a top 10 from Grala (depending on his qualifying position) to make value from him. For me Grala seems more like a GPP play.

Riley Herbst ($8,400)

Avg 2019 Finish: 9th

Riley Herbst and the #18 Joes Gibbs Toyota is fast again this week. After starting on the pole in his first Xfinity race earlier this season, Herbst ended up 9th and picked up 31 DKFP in the process. I think I would rather pay this price for Herbst then the extra $200 for Grala today. We know this #18 car is fast every week (see Kyle Busch earlier this season). In final practice Herbst had the second best single lap time as well as the 11th best 10 lap average, which he ran at the end of his practice laps, which is a great sign for long runs

Brandon Brown ($7,800)

Avg 2019 Finish: 17th

Brown has no top 10’s this season but does have 4 top 20’s in the last 5 races. With some poor qualifying efforts Brown has averaged 33.8 DKFP per race over the last 5 as well, hopefully we get another high 20’s + qualifying effort on Saturday to help us get great value from Brown. In final practice Brown ran a top 10 single lap time as well as the 12th best 10 lap average, and like Herbst, he ran those laps at the end of his practice run.

Other Options: Chase Briscoe ($9,400) Noah Gragson ($8,300) , Zane Smith ($7,600)

NASCAR DFS – Back of the Pack

All my plays in this section are going to be price plays because I don’t have any real reason to roster them. No one in this section ran fastest then 18th in practice (Jeremy Clements -$7,300 ). I want to get 4 drivers over the $8k price and I will need to get two drivers in the section to make that happen today. I’m going to wait until qualifying to see how these drivers end up, and I will probably go with two of the lowest positions to try to pick up positive place differential plays.

Ray Black Jr. ($6,900)

Avg 2019 Finish: 22.8

Black is my second favorite (my top driver is next) play in this section, he has one of the faster cars in this price point (21st single lap ).

Josh Williams ($6,100)

Avg 2019 Finish: 20.3

As promised, here is my top driver in this section. Williams has 3 straight top 20 finishes, including an 8th place finish last week at Talladega. Over those 3 races Williams has a 38.3 DKFP per race average. I am hoping qualifying effort outside the top 20, but I might have to consider Williams no matter where he qualifies.

Tommy Joe Martins ($5,900)

Avg 2019 Finish: 26.2

Martins is the only driver in this price point who ran a top 15 (15th place) 10 lap average in final practice. Over his last 3 races, Martins has 2 top 20’s and is averaging over 25 DKFP per race in that span.

Other Options: Stephen Leicht ($6,300), Matt Mills ($5,300)
