32 college football players destined to be future first round NFL Draft picks
20. Jake Fromm – Quarterback, Georgia
This may seem like a low stop for quarterback Jake Fromm considering what he has accomplished thus far in his career. I have no doubt Fromm will find himself in the top 10 discussions given the position he plays, but some draft people are not ready to put him in the upper echelon with some of the other guys who will be on the list.
However, he is still on the list for several reasons, starting with his accuracy. Fromm completed 67.4 percent of his passes in 2018 and is someone you trust to be smart with the ball. He also appears to be a natural leader and has been at the center of Georgia return to the prominence.
Fromm’s stats won’t jump off the screen because Kirby Smart refused to throw the ball despite have multiple weapons on the outside, but in big games, Fromm has proven he can hold his own. The thing that separates Fromm from guys lower on the list is that physical you don’t see any elite traits. He got a solid arm, but not great, and although he isn’t stiff, you wouldn’t call him very mobile either.
For some NFL teams that may lead to him not being the first quarterback they look at during this upcoming draft, but outside of injury Fromm should safely be in the first round.
