A Monday Night War dream match will happen this June as WCW Legend Bill Goldberg will step into the squared circle against the first-ballot WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker in a battle of the streaks.

Fans of late 90s professional wrestling rejoiced on Monday as WWE announced that WWE Hall of Famer and WCW legend Bill Goldberg will return to the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 33 to go one-on-one with the Deadman himself, The Undertaker.

This is a bona fide dream match 20-plus years in the making. While The Undertaker was undefeated at the Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania, for a good portion of his career, Goldberg racked up an impressive undefeated streak across WCW television in the 1990s, one we never thought would be replicated in this business until Asuka surpassed it almost 20 years later.

Fans have debated for years that, had this match happened back in the day, who would have emerged victorious. It’s apparently better late than never as the two legends of professional wrestling will collide at Super Showdown on Friday, June 7, live on the WWE Network.

Another match that was also announced on Monday is Triple H returning to the squared circle to add another chapter to his long-standing rivalry with “The Viper” Randy Orton, in a rematch of the main event of WrestleMania 25,10 years later. It should be interesting to see how this match plays out on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live leading into the event itself.

Finally, a 50-man Battle Royal will take place, the largest in WWE history. While the rules have not yet been announced one would think it would be pretty difficult to have 50 men in one ring all at the same time, so it will be interesting to see what the company has planned for this one.
