NBA Playoffs 2019: Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Game 1 live stream: Watch online
By Ian Levy
The Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers will kick off the Western Conference Finals with Game 1 in Oakland. Here’s all the information you need to watch.
The Portland Trail Blazers came up with a huge Game 7 to move past the Denver Nuggets and advance to the Western Conference Finals. Their prize is a matchup with the Warriors.
Damian Lillard was dominant for the Blazers in their first-round win over the Thunder but struggled a bit offensively against Denver, shooting just 40.7 from the field and 28.8 percent on 3-pointers. However, CJ McCollum took up the slack, averaging 26.4 points and dropping 37 in Game 7. Portland will need both guards to be at the top of their games, but they’ll need solid contributions from Mo Harkless, Al-Farouq Aminu and Enes Kanter.
Golden State’s depth will be tested as they move forward without DeMarcus Cousins and likely Kevin Durant for at least the first few games of this series. The specter of a return for one or both of those stars is a huge variable in the series but one the Warriors can’t count on. Despite a thinner bench than in year’s past, the Warriors still have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, the shooting and playmaking to run the dynamic system of movement, reading and reacting that helped them become a dynasty in the first place.

The Warriors will need some help from their bench in this series, if simply to avoid running Curry, Green and Thompson into the ground. If Portland can stretch the series to six or seven games, without Durant returning, their odds of sneaking out an upset should only increase.
