High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $8,333

Pat Connaughton (vs TOR – $3,800): Needs 16.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.25 fantasy points against Boston. Connaughton really proved himself in the second round and he should continue to get minutes in round three. Of course, with Brogdon back, that might change. He’s not going to hurt you at this salary and if you take Giannis or Kawhi as your captain, he’s a worthy risk you’ll have to take to save some money. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.

Serge Ibaka (at MIL – $5,600): Needs 25 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 32 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Ibaka was discovered at the end of the Sixers series and I think he’ll be used even more in this series. I don’t trust that Marc Gasol can stay on the floor against the spread offense of the Bucks. Ibaka averaged 43.3 fantasy points in four games against the Bucks this season. He’s a slight risk because nothing is guaranteed with him. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Brook Lopez (vs TOR – $4,200): Needs 18.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 5 fantasy points against Boston. I was torn between Lopez and Mirotic. I’m not opposed to Mirotic, I just think Lopez is far more playable in this series than he was against the Celtics. It’s also why I’m not a fan of Gasol because I don’t know if he’ll be able to defend in space like he used to. Lopez is a risk but one worth taking. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
