Ezekiel Elliott detained after chaos at Vegas nightclub (Video)

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot was handcuffed and detained at an event in Vegas over the weekend. His attorney is calling it an “overreaction.”

Ezekiel Elliott was handcuffed and detained over the weekend after he shoved a security guard to the ground outside a Vegas musical festival. TMZ Sports posted a video.

Elliott was not arrested. The video shows Elliott and his girlfriend arguing in the parking lot at 3:00 am on Saturday night. It can be seen in the video that Elliott doesn’t exert any force on the woman in question, but he does block her attempt to move away on several occasions.

Later in the video, Elliott and his girlfriend can be seen talking to the event staff. Elliott then says “You got something to say?” as he approaches a staffer, using his body to push him against the metal gate. At this juncture, Elliott uses his forearm to knock the man to the ground.

This is where the Las Vegas Metro Police Department puts Elliott in handcuffs before moving him away from the scene. Elliott is shouting that he “didn’t do anything,” although the video suggests that he did use bodily force to knock the staffer to the ground. According to Elliott’s attorney, he was released shortly thereafter.

“Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation,” Elliott’s attorney said. “He was cuffed as a precautionary measure. He was released with no charges. He left Vegas that night and went to his [youth football camp in Dallas] on Sunday.”

Elliott could still face punishment from the NFL, even without an arrest. In 2017, Elliott faced a six-game suspension over allegations that he had physically abused his ex-girlfriend, despite never being arrested. Elliott continues to deny those allegations.
