Stephen A. Smith is usually cool with the internet making memes of him, but the latest one has drawn a rare reaction.

Stephen A. Smith usually doesn’t pay two-cents to internet memes about him. Heck, there are even times when he gets in on the joke himself.

However, the latest meme has him speaking out, and not in the same way we’ve been accustomed too.

You can’t go on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram these days and not find a meme featuring Stephen A. Smith as a “baby.” It’s actually derived from a Snapchat filter that makes one’s face resemble that of a baby.

The filter fits perfectly with some of Smith’s entertaining rants, and the memes are, as usual, extremely hilarious. But the “Baby” Stephen A. memes have unearthed something from the satirical past, and he’s had to, once again, speak out on it.

Seven years ago, The Onion posted a story with the headline “Stephen A. Smith Thinking Son Is Finally Ready For The Sex Argument.” As most of us know by now, The Onion is a satire news website, with nothing up there to be taken seriously.

One ESPN personality, though, did take The Onion article seriously, and he responded in kind to the tweet, proclaiming that he does not have a son.

The personality was Smith, who went on a furious rant “disproving” the article. When followers pointed out that The Onion article was just satire, Smith deleted the tweets and tweeted that he got hoodwinked by the website.

Flash forward to the present, and Smith is, once again, having to deny that he has a son. So, let’s just put it out there for the record, Stephen A. Smith does not have a son. This is a fact.

What is also a fact is that the “Baby” Stephen A. Smith memes are absolute internet gold.
