3. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers were a popular sleeper pick a year ago before Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. With Garoppolo on the shelf, the 49ers became a disaster, ending up with the second pick in the NFL Draft.

Jimmy G is on the mend, however, and his return will be worth watching over the summer season of Hard Knocks. It’s also worth mentioning that unlike his mentor, Tom Brady, Garoppolo tends to be more out there in terms of his personality.

In case you forgot, Garoppolo once went on a date with a porn star and has dated models, so you know there’s more to Jimmy G besides his dashing good looks.

Seeing Garoppolo at work with the 49ers young offense and trading witty banter with head coach Kyle Shanahan would be worth the price of your HBO subscription.

The 49ers also have a very active alumni base to tap into, with legends like Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, and Steve Young all available to drop in and appear on an episode or two. This is a young 49ers team, so watching them get star struck would also be highly entertaining.

Last but not least, we can’t forget about cornerback Richard Sherman, who has become notorious for his trash talk throughout the league.

Sherman will definitely be jawing with some of the 49ers’ receivers in training camp, and he is a very clever guy, so the insults he’ll hurl at Jordan Matthews for messing up routes would be epic.
