Pascal Siakam and the Raptors shock the Warriors, Dexter Fowler robs the Phillies’ comeback hopes, Drake trolls the Curry family and other moments you missed Thursday.

1. Pascal Siakam leads Raptors in tone-setting Game 1

Pascal Siakim led the charge for the Raptors by shooting 14-17 and scoring 32 points, the most for a player’s NBA Finals debut since Kevin Durant scored 36 in 2012. Toronto would win Game 1 by a decisive score of 118-109 and set the tone for the 2019 NBA Finals.

2. Dexter Fowler robs the Phillies’ comeback hopes

Cardinals right fielder Dexter Fowler displayed his best Spider-man impersonation when he scaled the wall to make a game-ending catch on a foul ball hit by Andrew McCutchen. The snag gave St. Louis a 5-3 win and Fowler made sure to show off his grab to a few Phillies fans just in case they missed it.

3. Hyun-Jin Ryu leads shut out of the Mets

Hyun-Jin Ryu has been simply unhittable this month and his efforts on Thursday helped the Dodgers shutout the Mets 2-0. Ryu threw 7.2 nnings before turning it over to the bullpen. His ERA is currently 1.48 and he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in a start this season. Even more amazing is that he hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in a regular-season start since 2017.

4. U.S. Soccer U-20 team defeats Qatar and advances in U-20 World Cup

The U.S. Men’s Soccer Team may have failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but soccer fans still have the U-20 Men’s team to root for. Thanks to Tim Weah’s goal in the 76th minute,  the U.S. defeated Qatar to advance to the round of 16 and begin elimination play.

5. Daniel Murphy and the Rockies win on a walk-off (again)

The Colorado Rockies love winning on walk-offs and Thursday night was no exception. In the last seven games of Colorado’s homestand, the Rockies have won six, and four of those wins have come from walk-off hits. On Thursday it was Daniel Murphy who got the job done with a walk-off single to give the Rockies the 11-10 win over Arizona.

Overtime: Drake’s jersey on Thursday night steals the show

Whether you love or hate the attention-seeking Drake or believe he is actually capable of cursing NBA teams is irrelevant when you consider the jersey he wore on Thursday night. He was representing a famous basketball player with the last name Curry, but it wasn’t Golden State’s Steph. Drake showed up to Game 1 in a throwback Dell Curry Raptors jersey in what was a superb troll job. Pair that with a Raptors win and it was a pretty stellar night in the north.
