Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Get set for the 2019 NFL season with our Fantasy Football Predictions for each of the 32 teams to help you get ready for your draft!

Patriots – WR Demaryius Thomas will disappoint.

In fact, it is not a forgone conclusion that Thomas is the opening day roster. People might look at his numbers under Peyton Manning and assume Tom Brady can get the same out of him, but Thomas is in his 30s and coming off of a torn ACL. Thomas has never been a great route runner, something that Brady demands of his receivers.

Jets – TE Chris Herndon will represent the best value of any Jets player in Fantasy Football.

I’m not saying Herndon will score more points than Le’Veon Bell, that’s ludicrous. But, when you factor in draft position (or cost in Auction leagues), Herndon will give you a greater return on investment. Bell will be picked in the top 10 in most leagues, Herndon will be picked late in the draft and has potential top 10 TE. Herndon is a better value than the rusty Bell.

BillsJosh Allen is a QB1 in Fantasy.

Allen has not yet proven himself to be a franchise Quarterback. But that doesn’t matter in Fantasy. Allen had 7 games with either 100 yards or at least 1 rushing touchdown, four of them happening in the last 6 weeks. With upgrades at every offensive position around him via free agency and the draft, his fantasy numbers should continue to impress.

Dolphins – Miami should wait the longest to have its first player drafted in Fantasy Football.

The Dolphins don’t have a top 20 player at any position. They aren’t settled as to whom will be the week one starting QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Josh Rosen, Kenyan Drake was arguably the most disappointing fantasy RB last season when disqualifying holdouts or those with injuries. Miami doesn’t have a clear-cut WR1 or TE1 either.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Steelers – Juju Smith-Schuster will have a better season than Antonio Brown.

JSS was a top 10 WR with Brown on the team. He should be a top 5 WR without Brown as more balls will come his way. The argument that he will get more attention is valid. However, without Brown and Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger has to throw the ball somewhere, and there is no clear WR2 on the Steelers at this point.

Ravens – 4th Round Pick Justice Hill will be the teams RB1 by seasons end.

Mark Ingram will get his fair share of snaps given the financial investment the Ravens have made, but he lacks the explosiveness to make big plays. In college, with his 4.4 speed, Hill made several dazzling plays. While its way too early to compare Hill to Saints Alvin Kamara, he is certainly a closer comp than Ingram is to his former teammate.

Bengals – RB Joe Mixon will average at least 5 yards a carry.

Two years in, its reasonable to suggest that Mixon hasn’t reached his full potential. Mixon had well over 1000 yards last year despite the Bengals dysfunctional offense (Poor line play, injuries) finishing 26th in yards. Between health, offensive line additions, and new Head Coach Zac Taylor who oversaw Todd Gurley‘s resurgence with the Rams, Mixon is primed for a career year.

Browns – QB Baker Mayfield will be over-drafted in Fantasy.

This isn’t to say Mayfield will be a bust, because he won’t. The addition of Odell Beckham will cause Baker’s stock to skyrocket, and rightly so. But, the first few Quarterbacks get taken 2 to 3 rounds too early. With Beckham, Landry, Chubb, Njoku, and (eventually) Hunt, reaching for Mayfield will be hard for many to resist.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Colts – Rookie WR Parris Campbell will outplay FA addition Devin Funchess.

Since Reggie Wayne retired after the 2014 season the Colts have been looking for a viable WR2 to team with TY Hilton. Funchess is a tall target, but in 4 years with the Panthers, he has been inconsistent (one season as a top 50 WR), and lacks the big play ability (only two 100 yard games in that span, he’s a boom or bust Red Zone target at best.

Texans – WR Keke Coutee will become a must start in PPR Fantasy leagues.

Coutee is a poor mans Jarvis Landry. He caught 28 passes in only 6 games. Extrapolated over a 16 game season, that’s 75 catches. Dynamic WR DeAndre Hopkins will draw double coverage and speedster Will Fuller will garner his fair share of attention down field, allowing Coutee to gobble up catches in the middle of the field.

Titans – TE Delanie Walker will return to pre-injury form.

In each of his first 5 seasons with Tennessee, Walker had 60+ catches. Many thought his backup Jonnu Smith might come close to replicating Walker’s numbers, he did not. The team didn’t address the tight end position in the draft or free agency, in addition QB Marcus Mariota does not have the same rapport with any of his wide receivers yet, causing him to lean on Walker again.

Jaguars – One of the Jaguars Tight Ends will be a popular waiver pick up by October.

While the group, James O’Shaughnessy, ex-Cowboy Geoff Swaim, and 3rd Rounder Josh Oliver, looks unimpressive on paper, new QB Nick Foles loves throwing to his tight ends. Also, while they have solid depth at WR from top to bottom, they don’t have a single receiver who commands the ball, meaning the ball should be spread around a lot.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Chiefs – Despite possibly losing Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes should still be the 1st QB drafted.

Mahomes had a Dan Marino-esque sophomore season, throwing for 5,000 yards and 50 TDs. Tyreek Hill represented nearly 25% of that output. It would be downright shocking if he matched his 2018 numbers without Hill (and RB Kareem Hunt too), but Mahomes still deserves the benefit of the doubt and come closer to those numbers than most expect.

Raiders – RB Josh Jacobs should be Drafted higher in fantasy Football than he was in the NFL Draft.

Over his three years in college, Jacobs had only 300 touches, but that is a good thing for a RB as talented as Jacobs. Head Coach Jon Gruden loves backs who can catch as well as they run for his offense, so don’t be surprised if Jacobs equals his entire college output in one season, especially with WR Antonio Brown drawing a ton of attention.

Chargers – The Chargers will have an elite Fantasy Football D/ST.

The majority of fantasy points for a defense comes from sacks and interceptions. Pass rush and versatile safety play are the biggest keys. A healthy Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, along with 1st Round DT Jerry Tillery will collapse the pocket. In the secondary, S Derwin James will build upon a spectacular rookie season.

Broncos – Despite a 1000 yard Rookie season, RB Phillip Lindsay will still be undervalued.

Lindsay came out of nowhere in week 1 with 100 total yards and a touchdown as an undrafted rookie and never let up. The undrafted stigma, Royce Freeman‘s pedigree of being a high pick, along with playing behind inconsistent QBs, will make Lindsay fall farther than he should. He is the most consistent player on offense offers must-start potential.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Cowboys – WR Amari Cooper will not keep up his post-trade pace.

Cooper exploded once traded from the Raiders, catching 53 passes for 725 yards and 6 touchdowns. Over a full season, that would be 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 3 full seasons with the Raiders, Cooper didn’t reach those numbers. Plus, the addition of Randall Cobb and return of TE Jason Witten should mean fewer opportunities for big plays.

Redskins – WR Paul Richardson will lead the team in receiving.

Washington arguably has the weakest receiving core in the NFL. Richardson is a legitimate deep threat who played with a shoulder injury the entire season. In his final year in Seattle, he caught over 700 yards at 16 yards a clip with Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett on the field. With the lack of weapons in the passing game, a 1000 yard season is not unreasonable for Richardson.

Eagles – 2nd Round RB Miles Sanders is a safer bet than Bears castoff Jordan Howard.

Even though Howard has averaged 1,100 yards in his three years with the Bears, he had to split time with the more exciting Tarik Cohen. With the Eagles, the backfield is even more crowded. Philadelphia only invested a 6th rounder on Howard, they are more likely to give Sanders, their 2nd round pick every chance to take the starting job. touches

GiantsSaquon Barkley will lead the NFL in touches.

Despite being a rookie, nobody was surprised that Barkley had 1,300 yards rushing. What surprised many, were the 91 receptions, 2nd most of all runners. Without Odell Beckham, the Giants (and opposing defenses) will give Barkley even more attention. Barkley is the type of generational talent that will continue to thrive under the increased workload.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Bears – WR Anthony Miller is poised for a breakout year in Fantasy Football.

Miller found the end-zone on over 20% of his catches, and while that is not sustainable, he showed enough promise to garner a bigger role in the Bears offense. Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel were average at best, not enough to justify fewer snaps for Miller. Doubling his numbers to 70-1000-12 is not unrealistic in his sophomore season.

Lions – Rookie TE TJ Hockenson deserves TE1 Fantasy status.

Its a bit of a risk given that the Lions have drafted two other TEs in the first round under Matthew Stafford and neither became a TE1. Even more alarming is that Eric Ebron became a Fantasy Stud with the Colts immediately after leaving the Lions. But due to injuries and a dearth of elite talent at the position, Hockenson is worth a gamble after the 10th round.

Vikings – QB Kirk Cousins fantasy impact will continue to trend downward.

Head Coach Mike Zimmer fired the offensive coordinator because the Vikings weren’t running the enough. A new OC more inline with Zimmer’s philosophy and a healthy RB Dalvin Cook should make a difference. Cousins went from a QB1 in Washington to a QB2 in Minnesota. Now he’s barely draftable in a 10-team league.

Packers – RB Aaron Jones will finally be used properly.

Though some of it was his own doing (suspension, poor pass blocking skills), Jones had been criminally underutilized under the old coaching regime. For some reason, Jamaal Williams has gotten more attempts than Jones despite averaging almost two yards less per carry. New Head Coach Matt LeFluer (Titans, Rams) has proven he knows how to use Running Backs.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Saints – The absence of Mark Ingram will mean more snaps for RB Alvin Kamara.

Just because RB Latavius Murray was brought aboard to replace Mark Ingram on the roster, it doesn’t mean that he will be on the field as much as Ingram was. During Ingram’s 4 game suspension last season, Kamara proved he could handle a heavy workload. He averaged 152 scrimmage yards a game and had 6 touchdowns during that stretch.

Falcons – RB Devonta Freeman will finish the season in top 10 at his position in Fantasy Football.

This isn’t to say he should be drafted that high, because he is coming off a season where he missed 14 games. But it’s easy to forget how dominant Freeman was before Tevin Coleman developed, he was #1 and #6 in 2015 and 2016. Coleman overshadowed what a good pass receiver Freeman was (131 receptions over that same two-year period.

Panthers – QB Cam Newton will no longer a dominant (top 5) Fantasy QB.

Newton is coming off of shoulder surgery. While it isn’t thought to be serious, any shoulder injury is cause for pause. Newton is also on the wrong side of 30, which is more notable for him than any other quarterback, given how many rushing attempts he’s accumulated. The improved accuracy was good, but if he can’t regain the power to throw down field, it will be trouble.

Buccaneers – QB Jameis Winston will have the best season of his career.

New Head Coach Bruce Arians led Ben Roethlisberger and Carson Palmer to greater production. Winston has just as much talent as those two, so it’s not a stretch to think Winston could finally make the jump. Working against him are the losses of deep threat Desean Jackson and 3rd down maven Adam Humphries, along with having the worst running game of 2018.

Fantasy Football Predictions for Each NFL Team

Rams – RB Todd Gurley is, by far, the most important RB to handcuff in Fantasy Football.

Some might make an argument for Le’Veon Bell, who didn’t play last season, but at least he’s healthy. Gurley was either unavailable or ineffective for both the fantasy playoffs and the actual playoffs. The report of chronic arthritis can’t be dismissed. Owners must nab Rookie Darrell Henderson and maybe even Malcolm Brown as well, if they want to feel comfortable with Gurley.

More from FanSided

Cardinals – 1st overall pick in the NFL draft QB Kyler Murray is draftable.

Ten to twelve years ago, the thought of drafting a rookie quarterback was lunacy. But guys like Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Deshaun Watson, and Baker Mayfield have proven otherwise. What makes Murray so unique is that not only can he chew up yards on the ground, he’s not afraid to stand in the pocket and delivery passes accurately.

Seahawks – WR Tyler Lockett will be a must start every week.

The retirement of Doug Baldwin is part of this reasoning. However, even with Baldwin in the lineup, Lockett was still making big plays. Given the lack of experience of the receiving core, expect QB Russell Wilson to lean on Lockett even more. He won’t be able to sustain his 16.9 per catch average, but he’ll make up for that with an increase in catches.

49ers – None of the 49ers Running Backs will finish in the top 20.

Two reasons; First, the 49ers have several good backs; Newly acquired Tevin Coleman, 2018 addition Jerrick McKinnon, and underrated Matt Breida, just to name a few. Second, Head Coach Mike Shanahan loves to use multiple runners in various ways, and none of these guys have proven they can handle the lions share anyway.
