Tyson Fury returned to the ring for the first time since fighting to a draw with Deontay Wilder in 2018. He made easy work of Tom Schwarz.

Tyson Fury impressed the world with his 2018 performance against Deontay Wilder. He survived a devastating knockdown to battle to a draw. Fury was off for six months but finally returned to the ring against Tom Schwarz (24-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday, June 15 on ESPN+. Fury delivered the spectacular performance he needed to keep his momentum going.

Schwarz was an unknown who brandished an undefeated record but not much else. He was a light opponent for Fury’s debut bout with Top Rank and ESPN. Fury’s performance proved that he’s getting better with age.

In the first round, Fury landed the left hook from the start. He peppered Schwarz with jabs low and high throughout the entire round. Fury looked relaxed and smooth, while Schwarz looked outmatched.

Fury switched his stance to southpaw to open the second round. He hit Schwarz with a stinging left uppercut. Schwarz connected on a combination, but Fury retaliated with a powerful left-right combo. Schwarz’s nose started to pour blood.

Fury continued to impress, making Schwarz’s punches miss with superb head movement. Schwarz winged left and right hooks, but Fury evaded them with ease. Then, he displayed his punching power.

Working Schwarz to the ropes, Fury doubled up on left crosses and dropped Schwarz with a right hook. He got to his feet at the count of four, but he was hurt and dejected. Fury came in for the kill.

With 20 seconds remaining, Fury caught Schwarz on the ropes again and unloaded right hands to his body and head. Schwarz didn’t fight back and forced referee Kenny Bayless to stop the fight.

Fury stopping Schwarz wasn’t a surprise, but his colossal dominance was. Many expected Fury to break down Schwarz throughout the fight. Instead, he pummeled his nose, fought effectively in two stances, eluded attack, and finished off Schwarz in under two complete rounds.
