JaVale McGee has made a career of goofy viral moments. Add forgetting he was once teammates with Mike Bibby to his “Shaqtin” reel.

JaVale McGee apparently has a selective memory. While he spent nearly four years with the Wizards, apparently he doesn’t recall some of his teammates. McGee took to the comments section on an Instagram post about the 2010-11 Washington Wizards team to reveal an interesting bit of information.

The roster included some of the most interesting people in NBA history, including Gilbert Arenas, John Wall, Nick Young, McGee, Josh Howard, Kirk Hinrich, Trevor Booker, Al Thornton, among others. There was one very notable player than McGee just couldn’t quite recall being teammates with.

Yes, you’re seeing that correctly. McGee forgot being teammates with none other than Sacramento Kings legend Mike Bibby. Bibby was one of the best players in Kings’ history and went on later to help the Atlanta Hawks start a streak of 10-straight playoff appearances. Bibby was in McGee’s division in 2008-09 and 2009-10 before joining the Wizards in the summer of 2010 to presumably mentor up-and-coming star John Wall the way he did Jeff Teague in Atlanta.

Next. The Golden State Warriors and the illusion of inevitability. dark

McGee is notable for being a bit aloof at times, as his frequent flier miles on “Shaqtin A Fool” would suggest. He was on the show so much at one point that he actually had a beef with Shaquille O’Neal. Add this bonehead comment to the list of funny JaVale moments.

While it’s easy to make McGee a punchline in some situations, it’s worth noting that McGee is currently enjoying the best stretch of his career. He won two championships with the Warriors in 2016-17 and 2017-18, and just posted a career high in points per game last season with the Lakers in only 22 minutes per. McGee is a free agent this summer.
