The draft is the ultimate game of chance. Heading into the 2019 NBA Draft, these five players are being overrated.

Each year players rise and fall up and down draft boards over the duration of their college season, the NBA Draft Combine, and the pre-draft workouts done with teams. Names have been jumping around big boards for months and even though we’re just four days away, that movement still continues. There will be more reports and rumors as we get closer and closer to the actual draft. It is hard to project where and who the 60 players who are taken will be, but there are some players who stick out like a sore thumb.

For this post, we will be diving into five players who have been pegged to go higher than they probably should when Adam Silver starts calling names Thursday night. Different teams value different skillsets and packages in prospects and it is because of this that we see some teams make moves that at the moment do not make a great deal of sense to those outside of the organization.

While overrated has a negative undertone to it, these players listed aren’t necessarily bad players. They are either unproven, not skilled enough, or lack upside in comparison to other members of their draft class. All five of these players could easily go on to have great and long NBA careers. Though, given what we’ve seen of them so far, that is more unlikely than likely at this point. Here are the five most overrated prospects in the 2019 NBA Draft.
